Bekah Belward: VP (Welfare)

Hey! I'm Rebekah, your Vice President Welfare for the next year, and I have taken this year out of my primary teaching degree in order to support my fellow students as part of Brookes Union.

I grew up in Southampton and studied English language, sociology, maths and dance at college. Within my two years at Brookes I have been part of the dance society, the pole dance society, the Christian union and a committee member for the chocolate society. I have also been volunteering for the safety bus for the last year, doing shifts at least once a week.

I stood for this role as a chance to carry on, and if possible improve, the work of the safety bus. I also wanted to help my fellow students, and improve the university experience as best I can for all at Brookes.

My role involves providing a voice for students on committees within the university. I will also be running campaigns in order to raise awareness of, and tackle, some of the major issues surrounding the welfare of today's students.
