Andrew Mudd: LGBT Officer

Hello! I’m Andrew Mudd, 1st Year City and Regional Planning student and your choice for Oxford Brookes Students’ Union LGBT Officer. As a mature student I have a varied background with experience in education, retail and the Civil Service.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community for several years now I have been fortunate to experience the positive side to the community but also the negative. My passion, commitment and drive motivate me to campaign for and champion LGBTQ+ rights in our communities so that everybody can experience the positive side of the community.

My main goal this year is to create a safe and welcoming support network for all who come to Brookes. I intend to represent the LGBTQ+ community to the highest of my ability at Brookes, in the local community and nationwide.

As part of this I am currently working with the LGBTQ+ Society to reform and rebrand, I am working with external organisations to create an LGBTQ+ Guide to Oxford for Brookes students and am representing the views of the LGBTQ+ community at the student council.

Never forget; any issue, big or small, if it’s important to you then it is important to me!
