Jan Lockdown Statement

Tuesday 05-01-2021 - 14:59

Last night the Government announced another national lockdown. Once again students and universities weren’t mentioned in Boris’s address - you deserve better.

We’re sure you’ll have a lot of questions, and though it will take us some time to find all the answers, we are working non-stop to support you. The needs of students have been repeatedly ignored through this pandemic, which is why we are building a campaign to ensure that the University takes the right actions to respond to the needs of students.

We know your immediate concerns include exams, assessments and how your grades may be affected. So we will be calling on the University to put safeguards in place to protect your education. We’ll also be focusing on accommodation, wellbeing, tuition fees and supporting students on placements. We ask that you continue letting us know what you want the University (or Government) to focus on. (You can reach us via su@brookes.ac.uk or social media).

We’ll be in touch again shortly with further information. Please keep an eye on our social media and website, where we will keep you updated. Your voice matters. We’re here to make sure you are heard.
