Student Safety Update

This is an update from Brookes Union President Sean Keeley, regarding the incident that occurred in Divinity Road, East Oxford over the weekend, and remaining safe in the local area.

The police advice for those living in the area is to “remain vigilant and ensure that their property is secure.” You can get information from Thames Valley Police on personal safety at https://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/

We also have some guidance from our Advice Service including housing security and on staying safe. You can get a free personal attack alarm at Union reception in the JHBB and also Westminster Square at Harcourt.

The police has put in place increased patrols in the area following this incident which are being supported by the University’s own Security Services.
