Virtual Pet Cafe

We all love it when our pets make an appearance in the background of a virtual meeting. So what if we brought them into the foreground, gave them the spotlight and made the meeting all about them?

We are introducing... Brooke Union’s Virtual Pet Cafe - Because everyone can use a little bit of pet therapy these days, especially during these challenging times!

As part of our Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re inviting all pets of Brookes students and staff (plus their humans - you), to join us online for 45 minutes of all things pets! From dogs and cats, to guinea pigs, hamsters, and rabbits - all are welcome and no pet is too big or too small! We’ll also be joined by our resident Brookes Union Pets As Therapy Dog, Ted. Ted absolutely loves meeting new people on his visits to Brookes to see the students and staff. He also would do anything for a cuddle!

We will try to have a little running order, giving you the chance to introduce yourselves (if you want!), show us your fur babies and if anyone’s pet has a good party trick up their paw, then we’d love them to share it!

If you're a pet lover, but sadly not a pet owner, the good news is, you can still join. The love of pets/animals is more than enough!

We know what you’re thinking, it could be chaos... but we’re sure it’s going to be a lot of fun trying and  we guarantee it will leave you feeling a little bit happier.

Our pets have undoubtedly provided comfort and kindness to all of us recently, so inline with this year’s theme kindness, let’s give our friends something back and make this time all about them!  *There will be limited spaces.

- Date: Thursday 21st May 2020

- Time: 1.30pm - 2.15pm

- *Hosted via Zoom (Meeting link will be sent out to those who register interest).

If you fancy joining next week's virtual pet cafe, please register your interest, by popping a quick email over to us: su.communications@brookes.ac.uk.

In the email please include the following details:

- Will your pet be joining you on the call? (Remember you can still join without a pet).

- Type of pet?

- Pet's name?

- Are you a Brookes student or staff member?
