They are popular in the United Kingdom, where they are often referred to simply as ‘car boots’.” - Brookes’ Boot sale brings you many stands for students who wish to sell their unwanted goods. This is a great place to sell anything that you don’t need or no longer have use for. Students can have their own stalls. Seller entry is £1 per stand and lasts for two hour slots (ie. 10-2, 2-4). Public/student entry to the boot sale is free. Entry is also open to the public as well as to students.

Thirsty for innovation and hungry for success, the son of a tailor will manage to open a wax museum but will soon shift focus to the unique and peculiar, introducing extraordinary, never-seen-before live acts on the circus stage. Some will call Barnum’s wide collection of oddities, a freak show; however, when the obsessed showman gambles everything on the opera singer Jenny Lind to appeal to a high-brow audience, he will somehow lose sight of the most important aspect of his life: his family. Will Barnum risk it all to be accepted?.

Plot: After being kicked out of his rock band, guitarist Dewey Finn faces a mountain of debts and depression. He shares an apartment with an old band member, Ned Schneebly, who is now a substitute teacher. Dewey accepts a job as a substitute teacher at a snobbish private elementary school where his attitude and hijinx have a powerful result on his students. He learns they are talented young musicians, and he decides to form a rock band with them to win the $10,000 prize money in a local band contest. Once Dewey wins a competition called “Battle of the Bands”, the prize money would solve his financial problems and put him back in the rock music spotlight.
Brookes Union Explores is a series of events which focuses on connecting students through similar interests and ideas. It's a non-alcoholic alternative to club nights.
We will be holding a free film screening every Sunday at 7pm in Union Hall, and a weekly quiz every Tuesday at 7pm, as well as a variety of other events and activities throughout the year.
